The present work seeks to historically address a space for leisure and entertainment that was managed by an agricultural cooperative in the rural area, in Florencio Varela, Greater Buenos Aires, between 1960 and the mid-1970s. The objective is to identify the historical subjects who inhabited a space for social gatherings and the enjoyment of leisure time, known as the Ateneo, and analyze the ties that were established there, to the point of generating a local identity plot that survives to this day. In this sense, the aim is to identify the agencies of the subjects, especially women, and the transformations that occurred within them: tensions and materialities that show marks of class, gender and ethnicity. For this, tools from Social History will be used, since it is considered that a localized look at the experiences of some protagonists can provide powerful understandings of an extremely complex and little explored scenario. For this, family photographs will be analyzed that reflect these experiences, butin counterpoint with testimonies and life stories that can contribute to giving a voice to those who until now were not made visible.1-32esopenAccessTrabajadores ruralesOcioGéneroFotografía1960- 1975Historia“¡Hay Baile en el Ateneo!”
