The Argentine president Mauricio Macri described in that way this subregional platform. Even when during his electoral campaign he considered Mercosur the core of the Argentinean international insertion, as part of the so-called country’s “return to the world” and “back from ostracism”. This assertion was made in the middle of the negotiation process with the European Union, expressing his willingness to move forward in a free trade agreement. In this context, and taking into account the later “temporal” relinquishment of Macri’s administration to the Union of South American Nations (Unasur), the article analyzes what kind of strategy towards Latin America has been developed by Cambiemos. In this sense, it reflects on the national positioning on regionalism, starting with a previous discussion on the notions of region, regionalization, regionness and regionalism.application/pdf124-151spaopenAccessIntegración regionalRegionalismoCambiemosMacri, MauricioArgentinaRegional integrationRegionalismDebates contemporáneos sobre el regionalismo : una mirada desde la estrategia de la inserción argentinaContemporary debates on regionalism : perspective from the Argentine insertion strategyarticleAutor y ESE.
