Una de sus zonas de mayor influencia fue San Alberto, localizado en el departamento del Cesar donde llegó en 1974 bajo la influencia de la corriente socialista de la Alianza Nacional Popular. Este trabajo reconstruye tal proceso político que duró hasta 1990, año de su desmovilización. Para comprender la experiencia del M-19 en San Alberto, se partió de los aportes teóricos de Marta Harnecker, Orlando Fals Borda y Antonio Gramsci. Para lograrlo, se realizó una revisión documental sobre el conflicto social armado en la región y entrevistas tanto a ex integrantes de la guerrilla como simpatizantes. A lo largo de la investigación se evidencia que en su apuesta revolucionaria participaron activamente en la conformación y consolidación de las organizaciones obreras.The Movimiento 19 de abril was a Colombian guerrilla movement that was born from a series of contradictions in the revolutionary projects and the electoral fraud of 1970. One of its areas of greatest influence was San Alberto, located in the department of Cesar where it arrived in 1974 under the influence of the socialist current of the Alianza Nacional Popular. This paper reconstructs such a political process that appeared until 1990, the year of its demobilization. To understand the experience of the M-19 in San Alberto, we started from the theoretical contributions of Marta Harnecker, Orlando Fals Borda and Antonio Gramsci. To achieve this, a documentary review was carried out on the armed social conflict in the region and interviews with both former guerrilla members and sympathizers.
