Aunque el Tratado nunca entró en vigor y por lo tanto no tuvo efectos directos, se ha constituido con el pasar de los años en uno de los temas más interesantes en las relaciones internacionales regionales.El Tratado ABC fue el resultado de diversas tendencias, de cooperación y de conflicto, presentes entre los tres países desde fines del siglo XIX y comienzos del siglo XX. Algunos factores que incidieron en la coyuntura de la época son los siguientes: las relaciones con los Estados Unidos, las disputas territoriales no resueltas entre Argentina y Brasil, por un lado, y Argentina y Chile, por el otro; y las rivalidades políticas, diplomáticas y geopolíticas entre ellos y el resto de los países de América del Sur, como así también el clima de ideas imperante en los líderes argentinos de la época del Centenario.On the 1st of May 1915 Argentina, Brazil and Chile, signed the Agreement ABCtrying to give to the relations in the South Cone a climate of understanding and agreement to solve the common problems that they had. Although the Agreement was not ratified and therefore it did not have direct effects, it has been constituted in one of the most interesting topics in the international regional relations. The Agreement ABC is the result of diverse forces of cooperation and conflict between the three countries at the ends of the XIXth century and the beginning of the XXth century.
