Aquí la intención es realcionarlos en un período cronológico de la historia argentina, el de la gran inmigración, y que nos puedan dar cuenta de “otra historia” que desteja la visión de éxito o fracaso de un proyecto que generalmente es medido, en logros o no, de progreso económico y ascenso social. A partir de documentos relevados en el Hospital Asilo Colonia Regional Mixto de Alienados, ubicado en la localidad de Oliva, provincia de Córdoba, se presenta en este ensayo, que no pretende ser más que el inicio de una investigación más amplia, intentando dar cuenta de las expectativas no cumplidas por parte de algunos inmigrantes, el contexto histórico en el que se produjeron y la acción derivada del pensamiento hegemónico de la época, que se aplicó para limitar, seleccionar y excluir a quienes eran estigmatizados como locos.Inmigration and madness are terms with their own weight, that in very few times were taken as a whole.
