In them, it has been possible to portray the customs and contribute to the construction of the identity of Colombians to the extent that it reflects their conflicts, dramas and situations through the small screen. Therefore, this paper aims to offer a study of Colombian soap operas and an analysis of the concept, development and contribution to the idea of what it means to be Colombian. We must start from the fact that the ways in which the popular sectors have been represented led to the creation of a discourse that will generate a national narrative from which elements of identity were created.
