A escasos días de haberse iniciado el 2011
una serie de acontecimientos sorpresivos ganaron
la primera plana de los diarios alrededor del
mundo. Se hace referencia a las revueltas en el
mundo árabe, movimiento que ha sido denominado
“primavera árabe”.
Estos levantamientos se iniciaron en Túnez para
luego propagarse hacia otros Estados del Norte
de África y Medio Oriente, entre estos Bahrein.
El objetivo del presente trabajo es describir la
naturaleza de las revueltas que se han producido
en el Reino, analizar sus causas, las implicancias
regionales de las mismas y cómo éstas han
evolucionado, esto en el marco de un fenómeno
de mayor magnitud que de una u otra forma ha
afectado a la región en su conjunto
A few days after the beginning of 2011 a series of unexpected events got to the front page of the newspapers all over the World. It is being made reference to the revolts in the Arab world, movement that has been called “Arab spring”. This uprisings began in Tunisia and then spread to other States in the North of Africa and Middle East, between them Bahrain. The aim of this paper is to describe the nature of the revolts that have taken place in the Kingdom, analyze its causes, its regional implications and how they have evolved, this in the context of a phenomenon of bigger magnitude that in one or another way have affected the region as a whole.
