Resumen
Un estudiante universitario, luego de soñar un encuentro entre Humphrey Bogart y Rodolfo Walsh , decide emprender como trabajo práctico final de la materia Periodismo y Literatura, una investigación para comprobar la siguiente hipótesis: existe una conexión entre Raymond Chandler y Rodolfo Walsh ya que ambos no estaban de acuerdo con la sociedad en que vivían
El autor comienza por describir las características básicas del género policial, ya que considera que Chandler es uno de los padres del género y sabe que Walsh ha escrito cuentos policiales y que en sus escritos de no-ficción incluye elementos de este tipo de relatos.
El texto, redactado en primera persona, se convierte en una especie de ensayo policial, donde el autor va recorriendo distintas etapas para intentar probar su hipótesis. Busca material en libros prestados, se reúne con su maestro, un fanático del género policial, revisa la trayectoria de los dos escritores sobre los que indaga hasta encontrar un elemento que cree es prueba indiscutible para confirmar su teoría.
La última reunión con su maestro le revela un aspecto acerca de sus suposiciones que le harán repensar lo que él ya daba por sentado.
After dreaming about a meeting between Humphrey Bogart and Rodolfo Walsh an university student decides to undertake an investigation, as a final workshop project for the subject Journalism and Literature, to prove the following hypothesis: there is a connection between Raymond Chandler and Rodolfo Walsh as both did not agree with the society in which they lived. He begins by decribing basic characteristics of the detective novel because he considers Chandler to be one of its creators and he also knows that Walsh has written detective short stories as well as included elements of this genre in his non fiction works. The text, written in first person, becomes a sort of detective essay where the author passes through different stages trying to prove his hypothesis. He looks for material from borrowed books, meets with his mentor, a fanatic of the detective novel, and studies the careers of both writers that he is investigating until he finds an element that he believes proves undeniable his theory. The last meeting with his mentor reveals an aspect regarding his suppositions that will lead him to rethink what he had already assumed to be true.
