En este artículo se analiza el texto de “Juan Moreira”, el folletín escrito por Eduardo Gutiérrez entre 1879 y 1880, y sus proyecciones en la cultura y la literatura argentina del siglo XX. Por tal razón se divide en dos partes: la primera describe la novela de Gutiérrez y su recepción por parte del público contemporáneo, mientras que la segunda analiza las formas en que el texto fue re-escrito posteriormente, tomando en cuenta de manera específica las recreaciones poéticas practicadas por Juan José Saer y Néstor Perlongher.
This article analyses the “Juan Moreira”, the newspaper serial written by Eduardo Gutiérrez between 1879 and 1880, and its impact on the argentinian culture and literature from the 20 th century. Therefore, it is divided into two sections. The first one describes Gutiérrez’s novel and its reception by the contemporary readers, while the second one analyses the ways in wich the text was re-written afterwards, especially considering the poetic recreations made by Juan José Saer and Néstor Perlongher.
