[en] Along with the success that is generally attributed to the two Lula’s administrations starting in 2003, the debate about the so called lulism has gradually displaced what was until then an attention to the Worker’s Party (PT), to focus on Lula and its leadership. Resting on the Literature on the subject, the article examines different existing interpretations, distinguishing between thesis regarding the conditions of possibility of lulism and its analysis as a political phenomenon. In relation to first ones, issues such as the different visions about the accumulation model that was in force and the policies of redistribution of income adopted during its two administrations are emphasized. Differences are observed at the time of determining to what extent Lula’s government continued the model implanted by the preceding administration and what would explain its greater political success. With respect to the second, perspectives diverge from considering lulism a new disguise for practices of occupation and partisan partition of government to regarding it as a phenomenon of leadership that adds important contents of politics. The authors also present their own hypothesis.
