El artículo analiza las relaciones establecidas entre tres fracciones de intelectuales que ocuparon altos cargos públicos durante la última dictadura militar argentina: los nacionalistas, los “liberales tradicionales” y los “liberales tecnocráticos”. Para ello, se recurre a dos hipótesis elaboradas para regimenes militares anteriores. La primera indica que entre estas fracciones suele establecerse una particular división del trabajo, y que los liberales tienden a desempeñar los roles mas técnicos, mientras que los nacionalistas se ocupan de las funciones mas políticas. La segunda sostiene que durante las etapas iniciales de los regimenes militares tiende a mantenerse entre ambos bandos una relación de equilibrio, que va siendo progresivamente modificada a favor de los liberales y en detrimento de los nacionalistas.
The article analyzes the relations established among three fractions of intellectuals who occupied top public positions during the last Argentine military dictatorship: the nationalists, the “traditional liberals” and the “technocratic liberals”. For that, two hypotheses elaborated for previous military regimes are considered. The first points out that it is usually settled down a particular division of the work among these fractions in which the liberals tend to carry out more technical roles, whereas the nationalists take care of more political functions. The second hypothesis maintains that during the initial stages of the military regimes a balanced relation tends to stay between both sides that goes progressively being modified in favor of the liberal ones and to the detriment of the nationalists.
