En el presente artículo nos proponemos realizar un recorrido por la historia de la Sociedad de Socorros Mutuos “Unión Caboverdeana” de Dock Sud a partir del análisis de sus actas. El objetivo principal es reconstruir algunos aspectos de su historia desde su fundación en 1932 hasta la década de la independencia de Cabo Verde. Este artículo está organizado en tres períodos que son atravesados por dos dimensiones: por un lado, la relación de la Sociedad Caboverdeana con Cabo Verde; por otro lado, las estrategias de integración desplegadas por los inmigrantes caboverdeanos para adaptarse a la sociedad argentina. La Sociedad Caboverdeana se encuentra, en la actualidad, en una posición clave dentro del colectivo afrodescendiente. Sus iniciativas y sus actividades dan cuenta de una importante vida institucional sin precedentes en el campo de las sociedades mutuales. Este recorrido desde los documentos institucionales busca complementar una mirada desde el presente que demuestre cuáles fueron los hechos que marcaron la historia de esta sociedad mutual y que muestre los aspectos particulares de este colectivo en el camino que trazaron hombres y mujeres para comenzar una nueva vida en Argentina.
In this paper we propose a journey through the history of the Sociedad de Socorros Mutuos “Unión Caboverdeana” of Dock Sud from the analysis of its proceedings. The objective is to reconstruct some aspects of its history since its founding in 1932 until the early Independence of Cabo Verde. This article is organized into three periods of time that are crossed by two dimensions: on the one hand, the relationship between the Sociedad caboverdeana with Cabo Verde, on the other hand, integration strategies deployed by Cape Verdeans immigrants to adapt to argentinian society. The Sociedad caboverdeana is, at present, in a key position within the African descents movements. Their initiatives and activities show a significant institutional life in the field of mutual societies. This review from institutional documents seeks to complement a look from the present to show which were the events that marked the history of this mutual society and to show which were the events that marked the history of this mutual society and to show the distinctive feature of this group in the way dawn by these men and women to start a new life in Argentina.
